Bojana Stamenov, also known as the Serbian Aretha Franklin, is one of the top vocalists of the Serbian music scene. She comes from a family of blues musicians and has been practicing music from an early age, playing everything from the classical guitar to the Renaissance lute and the Arabian oud along with numerous other instruments, and executing rich vocal interpretations of various blues, funk and soul songs.
Following her appearance on the third season of the Serbian TV show, I Have Talent, which was her introduction to a wider audience, Stamenov began collaborating with famous musicians and scheduling studio sessions, appearances on blues festivals and music events all over the country. In 2015, she represented Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest with a song, “Beauty Never Lies.”
Bojana Stamenov Band was formed in 2012. Its hallmarks are an authentic blues sound and a recognizable energy that leaves no one unaffected. The band plays its own pieces and they are currently recording their first album in English.
