In May 2011, these four friends won the first prize at the prestigious Osaka International Chambers Music Competition. As a result, mthe following autumn they played 15 concerts in Japan and performed at numerous festivals, both in their native France and all over the world. In 2013, the quartet went on to win another first prize, this time at the Illzach International Chamber Music Competition. They are the recipients of the French Banque Populaire Foundation Award, as well as the Cziffra Foundation Award. The performers’ music collaboration offers an eclectic and ambitious program, as they play everything from Mendelssohn and Borodine, to Beffa and Ravel, as well as pieces composed by Piazzola and Mike Mower. From the Baroque to Romanticism, from modern music to tango, whichever the four perform, their audiences leave the concert halls full of joy, having discovered a new, original, sound of the saxophone. By performing together, and expressing their individual idiosyncratic musicality, the members of the ensemble create this unique, and what can only be called – the Morphing sound.
